We are just 42 days away from this year's annual EXTORTION 17 Memorial Ride to be held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024. The ride will again be hosted at Lendy's Cafe' and Raw Bar at 1581 General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA. Registration begins at 0700. All participants (riders and passengers) must register for the ride. There is no cost or fees for the ride. It's sole purpose is to honor and remember the 31 Heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on Augst 6th, 2011 in the Tangi Valley, Wardak Province, Afghanistan, when their CH-47 "Chinook" helicopter - callsign "EXTORTION ONE SEVEN"- was shot down during its approach to a landing zone. The ride will be escorted by the Virginia Beach Police Department and participants from neighboring law enforcement agencies. The ride departs Lendy's at 1000 and will return to Lendy's at about 1100. It is a scenic route through beautiful Virginia Beach. So, please mark your calendars and plan to attend this year's ride.
