IN 2024, THE BIKE SWAP IS EXPANDING TO A NEW LOCATION: TACOMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE, LOT A!
Lot A is located on S 19th Street, next to the TCC Transit Center.
The Pierce County Bike Swap will bring the bicycling community together to buy, sell bikes and bike parts, give folks space to practice their riding skills, discuss best cycling routes, and much more. We are planning on the following activities:
? BIKE CORRAL
Buy a bike or sell a bike at our Bike Corral! If you have 1-2 bikes to sell, this is the recommended route. There are no listing or selling fees. You do not need to sell a bike to buy, or trade. Come find your new-to-you ride!
For folks waiting to sell their bikes, we will put together a small park where people can hang out in comfort (think lounge chairs, fake grass, lawn games), courtesy of Downtown On the Go.
?BIKE SAFETY CHECKS AND REPAIRS
Make sure your future bike is safe to test ride by taking it through a quick safety check first by a professional bicycle mechanic. A mobile bike repair shop will also be onsite for more complex repairs.
??BIKE TEST RIDE AREA
Test out your potential new ride on a secure, short route through the Swap.
⛑️ LOW-COST HELMETS
Provided by Downtown on the Go, bicyclists can purchase affordable helmets and get a proper helmet fitting.
?️ BIKE MAP MASTERS
Discuss best biking routes with seasoned local riders at the Bike Map Masters station.
? BIKE SKILLS PRACTICE AREA
Folks can practice safe riding skills such as balancing, scanning, stopping, turning, and more.
?️ VENDORS - list to be announced soon!
We will be inviting local bike shops and bike-related organizations to show off their products and share the latest information with you on bicycling in Pierce County. If you have several bicycles or bike parts to sell, we recommend you register as a vendor. There will be no vendor fees!
? FOOD TRUCKS
Enjoy delicious sweet and savory food from local food trucks including Turger Burger, P&J's Waffle Delight and TNT Espresso and Mini Donuts.
?ART DISPLAY
Bring your lightweight, 2D bicycle-themed artwork to the Swap to show off or sell! Tacoma Art Museum will be managing the display at their booth on grid walls and easels. Drop off anytime, but please pick up by 2 p.m. We'll provide the wire and zip ties, so make sure your art is ready to be hung.
