We're thrilled to announce the 12th Annual Utah Pacific Island Heritage Month Kick-Off will take place once again at Lodestone Park on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 from 5pm to 10pm. This one day event officially kicks off a month of festivities all being hosted in honor of Utah Pacific Island Heritage Month. Since 2012, August has been observed as Utah Pacific Island Heritage Month to celebrate the unique history and contributions of Pacific Islanders to the state of Utah.
This free, non-ticketed community event brings together both Pacific Island communities and our wider Utah community to commemorate the occasion through local and cultural demonstrations, music, dance, food, clothing, games and activities for children, opportunity drawings, and so much more! You never know who will show up or what cool surprises are in store! The Kick-Off is the perfect event for families to get together and learn more about our Pacific Islander customs and the long presence that our Pasifika people have had within the state of Utah.
