This year for the Morgan’s 12th Annual Juried Exhibition artists are posed with the challenge of exploring New Terrain. Artists are encouraged to traverse this concept through various media and ideas of mapping, the heroic quest, charting new courses and translating the experiential into the visual and how we connect to our environment real and imagined. Artwork encompassing this theme is eligible for submission. This year’s exhibition is juried by Dr. Jeffrey Katzin, the Senior Curator at the Akron Art Museum, and Fiber Artist, Fafnir Adamites. Dates & Deadlines:
- Open Call Submission Deadline: 11:59 pm EST Saturday, January 6th
- Exhibition On View: April 5th, 2023- May 4th, 2024
- Public Opening Reception: Friday, April 5th, 5pm-8pm
Eligibility:
The Morgan Conservatory's 12th Juried Exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States. It is highly encouraged that works are for sale.
- All submitted work must be original and completed within the past 3 years.
- Only artwork consisting of at least 50% paper is eligible.
- Dimensions must not exceed 60 inches in any direction.
- Each artist is welcome to submit up to 3 entries.
- Artwork must be framed (if media applicable) and ready to hang, or come with alternative installation directions.
Awards:
- Best in Show: $500
- Runner Up: $300
- The Prints and The Pulper™ paper studio award: $200 award selected by MP Marion
- 2 Morgan Awards of Merit: Various Hand Made Paper
- Viewers Choice Award: $50 Gift Certificate to the Morgan Store
Entry Fees:
Registration fee is $40 for up to 3 submissions.
