12th Annual Glider Games are proudly presented by the North Coast Soaring Association and the American Airlines Gas Model ClubThis is the original slope flying outdoor Big Boy version of our insane indoor Saturday night Wingola combat events. Big birds and lots of contact. Not for the faint of heart! We have had contestants from all over the US and others countries come to attend this slugfest. We have access to three slope sites for the event. the daily slope is determined by the forecasts and announced the evening prior. City View is our largest sight and works for SW winds of 18 to 40+ mph. Edgewater Park needs N-NE winds 15 to 30+ mph. Finally Perry Park, next to the Perry Nuclear plant and the prettiest and needs NW winds 18 to 30+ mph.
For those not familiar, the Glider Games is a loose competition involving slope RC aircraft engaged in combat, racing and just general fun. If the winds don't cooperate we'll fly electric powered RC at our AAGMC Lodi field. We are also planning at least one night of indoor RC combat.
The banquet will be Saturday May 4th at the Tinkers Creek Road Tavern.
