This year’s contest promises all the excitement of an opening night at the theater because it marks the first time students entered plays and songs in addition to poems, short stories, and illustrations!
Best of all, our two talented Editor's Choice Award winners will get a well-deserved round of applause as they see their work produced by the New York City theater company, Story Pirates.

Since 2009, iWRITE has published over 730 young writers in grades 3-12 in the I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids anthologies and worked with thousands of students through our "i" The Guy Creative Writing Journal program. Being published at a young age promotes positive self-esteem and encourages a healthy sense of competition. We believe it is important to add early successes during childhood as we shape the future of our community. As the organization continues to grow, your support can increase the number of economically disadvantaged schools across the Greater Houston area that will benefit from iWRITE's writing and publishing programs.
