11 to End 22Ruck for research- stop veteran suicide!
On Sunday June 27th, National PTSD Awareness Day, at 830 AM at the Darien, CT VFW (205 Noroton Ave, Darien, CT 06820) we'll ruck-march through Darien, Norwalk, and Westport (465 Riverside Ave, Westport, CT 06880) to raise awareness of veterans in SW CT and raise money to treat mental health.
This is a one way event.
-Following the completion of our hike, the Westport VFW will provide refreshments.
Participants should fill out the waiver linked below and email it along with your contact information to [email protected].
-Participants can receive a t-shirt for this event if registered in advance of June 4th- Please include your size.
-Rucks are packed to the participants specifications, this is not a race or contest – this is an opportunity to meet other veterans and supporters in our communities!
-Registration will begin at 0830 and we plan to step off at 0900. The trip will take approximately 3 hours.
-All participants are responsible for their own equipment and water. Please arrange for return transportation or to be picked up from the Westport VFW.
-This event will take place on city streets so participants are expected to obey traffic laws and utilize sidewalks when available.
-Teams are encouraged and welcome.
We appreciate any and all donations made to OneMind through our GoFundMe . All proceeds go directly to OneMind and are tax deductible. We have a goal of $5,000.
-OneMind, a partner of the VFW, creates and supports a wide range of brain health programs that impact science, services, and society, working in concert to accelerate brain health for all. They specifically support research for TBI and PTSD.
This event is rain or shine, with the exclusion of lightning.
