Sam Morrow is entering a bold new chapter with Southern Boogie, an album that leaves behind the Americana and country-funk sound of his previous releases in favor of gritty, guitar-driven Southern rock. Inspired by a life-changing move from Los Angeles to Nashville, a renewed sense of purpose, and a fresh perspective on both music and life, the record showcases Morrow at his most authentic and self-assured. Recorded mostly live in Austin with producer Jonathan Tyler, Southern Boogie embraces a raw, analog approach that captures the energy of a band playing together in the room.
Drawing inspiration from the swagger of classic Texas rock while staying true to his own voice, Morrow delivers a collection of songs filled with hard-hitting riffs, heartfelt storytelling, and an infectious sense of fun. Themes of love, redemption, freedom, and personal growth run throughout the album, reflecting everything from reconnecting with—and marrying—his high school sweetheart to embracing the healing power of music. After years of searching for his identity as an artist, Sam Morrow has found it. Southern Boogie is loud, honest, and built for turning up the volume.
