About this Event
Lighthouse Collaborative Summary: The Lighthouse Collaborative (LC) is a cross-district instructional improvement initiative designed to support the Chancellor’s Four Pillars, with an emphasis on expanding our ability to “scale, sustain and restore what works” through collaborative inquiry and sharing of promising practices. All Lighthouse Collaborative schools open their doors to a citywide audience to share promising practices within an instructional focus area.
Visit Summary: Knowledge and Power Preparatory Academy International High School (Kappa) is a high school located in the Bronx.
At this Lighthouse Collaborative visit, participants will:
- Learn about the school practices that provide access to rigorous learning experiences for all students, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program.
- See how teachers customize classroom instruction, including purposeful groupings and tiered tasks to meet the needs of all learners, especially for students with IEPs.
- Explore how Power Prep’s schoolwide practices promote success for all learners, including Crew and Student-Led Conferences.
At the end of the day, visitors will have the opportunity to plan how these practices can be incorporated into their own work.
