The 10th Annual Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge is going to be the best RCDC yet. The Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge is styled after TV’S “Dancing with the Stars” and the first event was held in August of 2011. The SACNWGA staff and RCDC participants work tirelessly in the months leading up to RCDC to make it a spectacular event. Local “celebrities” are recruited and paired with dance instructors from the Rome community to compete for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. Four awards are given the night of RCDC: the Judge’s Choice Award and runner up, and the People’s Choice Award and runner up. The Judge’s Choice Award winner is decided by a panel of judges based on the team’s dance style and technique. The People’s Choice Award is decided by the team with the most votes. Votes are cast for each team in the form of funds donated, and all funds raised will contribute to direct services provided to victims of sexual abuse by the SACNWGA.
