About this Event
Frameline and the Women Sports Film Festival are co-hosting a 10th anniversary screening of New Generation Queens, a documentary about Zanzibar’s women’s soccer team. This award-winning film was director Meg Shutzer’s first documentary and the event will be a fundraiser for their current film-in-progress, The Pr*son Outside, about the aftermath of a childhood life sentence.
Before the feature, we’ll show you an 11 minute sneak peek of The Pr*son Outside, which just won Best Documentary at the Emeryville Film Festival.
We'll be serving drinks by Mother and snacks from Lori's Loaves.
5:30pm: Come hang, buy raffle tickets, and celebrate pride month
6:30pm: The Pr*son Outside Preview + Raffle
7:15pm: New Generation Queens (RT 48 min)
The event is free, but we’ll be passing the hat for The Pr*son Outside – so come prepared to support our favorite queer filmmaker and this powerful film.
Can't make it and want to contribute? You can make a tax deductible donation to The Pr*son Outside here.
