⚪️ - EVENT INFORMATION - ⚪️

TOALHA is THE movement that has been entering Brazilian Zouk in 2019 and has continued to mesmerize the community with is flowy, yet explosive momentum in the dance. Since the zouk community has developed many different variations with different connection points, inversions and more.
Of course this captivating movement has also conquered the bachata and west coast swing world and rumors has it that some BachaZouk demos consist of more toalha variations than bachata basics 😜
NOW is your chance to finally learn the technique of this movement into depth! We will have the time to go through the technical details to lead and follow this movement safely and effortlessly in the FOUNDATIONS part of the day learning the basic variations.
The second part of the day aims at those dancers who already do toalha and finally want to take the time to train all those creative variations such as inverted toalha in different shapes, tornado, toalha bate & volta and more.

⚫️ FOUNDATION
Going into the very detail of the foundation of toalha. How to execute, how to lead and follow safely. Since we will have this time to work exclusively on this one technique we can go into all the drills and all the little details, to finally make you master this technique and learn the basic variations.
‼️ FOR: advanced zouk, bachata & other dancers who dominate circular headmovement with no issues (headroll) and can execute basic tilted turns with no major issues. (level 2-3)
⚫️ VARIATION
On the second part of the day we will use those foundation techniques and work on different variations of the same technique such as inverted toalha with different shapes, tornado, and toalha bate & volta.
We will have the time to train advanced techniques and transitions, that you usually don’t have time to train on.
‼️ FOR: advanced zouk, bachata & other dancers who dominate circular headmovement (headroll) and tilted turns with no issues. We also recommend already being able to execute the basic toalha with no major issues. (level 3-4)
⚫️ INTEGRATION
On the party you will have the chance to train your new skills with the teachers and many other experienced ZoukCologne dancers. In case we have enough dancers to other genres will will open a second floor with bachata, WCS, or kizomba.

⭐️ THE TEACHERS ⭐️
⭐️ WILSON: from São Paulo is an incredible dancer as lead & follow. He is the ZoukIreland headteacher in Dublin where he teaches regular classes whenever he is not teaching all over the world. He is a very technical teacher and a very adaptive dancer creating many different variations of toalhas & tornados.
⭐️ JULINHA: from Cologne is ZoukCologne headteacher and mastermind behind the 101 How To series. She is known mainly for being a very into detail technical teacher while still keeping class fun. In dancing people know her for her ability to find her axis in all turns with headmovements on this planet earth and loves to explore the different toalha & tornado variations.
