1000 Women in 1 Day: Make History in London at Body & Soul

On Saturday 29 August 2026, we’re going to try something completely outrageous:
Photograph 1,000 women in 12 hours in East London…
and turn it into a fine‑art coffee‑table book that you’ll be able to show your grandchildren one day.
Imagine being 90, sitting with your granddaughter and pointing at a page in a heavy book:
“That was me. That was the day I decided to stop hiding and let myself be seen.”
This isn’t about likes or shock value. It’s about:
– Doing something brave on purpose
– Standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with hundreds of other women
– Letting yourself be fully seen for 60 seconds
– And having a physical record of that moment for the rest of your life
You get one life. If you’ve ever felt like you’re shrinking, playing small, apologising for existing… this is your invitation to do the opposite for one day.
We’ll be running 30‑minute arrival windows from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm, with around 35 women per slot. You’ll check in, queue, have about 60–90 seconds on set for a powerful three‑quarter portrait, and then you’re done (or you can hang around and soak in the energy).
WHAT YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM
When tickets go live, there will be a few simple ways to be part of it:

You’re in the building, in the queue, in front of the camera, and in the record. You’ll appear in the book as one of the 1,000 women from the day.
🌟Record + Digital Portrait – £99
A full resolution version of your final fully retouched digital portrait from the day to keep and print as you wish. Ticket comes included.

For women who want more than a moment – they want an heirloom.

We’ll share a Portrait Inspiration Guide closer to the time, but you can come as raw or as audacious as you like:
WHY WE’RE DOING THIS
For years, Body & Soul has lived inside rooms in someone else’s building. We’ve photographed more than 2,200 women in East London and Australia.
The original plan was to take Body & Soul to America next. We had an “America Fund” saved and a map with Austin, San Diego, San Francisco and New York circled.
But session after session, the women here pulled harder on us than any plane ticket. We realised we weren’t done in London. We didn’t want to expand just for the sake of it.
So we did the opposite of what we had planned: we took our America Fund and put a deposit down on our own four‑storey, 3,000 sq ft Body & Soul home in Farringdon, central London.
The 1,000‑woman record day and the book are how we celebrate that decision and invite a small group of women to be the founding chapter of this new home.
