Join Musical Theatre Stafford as they celebrate their Centenary with an all-singing, all-dancing Musical Showcase featuring songs from some of the many fantastic shows they have performed in the past 100 years!In 2022 Musical Theatre Stafford reaches its momentous 100-year anniversary. This exciting milestone will be commemorated by our Centennial Celebration Showcase which will honour this special moment in the Society’s history.
Almost 100 years ago, on 21st November 1922, a group of twenty musical theatre enthusiasts joined forces and the Stafford and District Operatic Society (as it was then) was formed. The Society’s first show, the Mikado, was performed in February 1924 at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre, formerly the Stafford Borough Hall, and the Society have performed all but two of their 145 shows at this venue, a collaboration of which they are immensely proud.
Now in 2022, they will celebrate the history of Musical Theatre Stafford in a landmark concert performance featuring songs from shows such as Sweeney Todd, The Mikado, Oliver, South Pacific, Spamalot, Les Misérables, The Sound of Music, and Sister Act.
