it's 2015, in efforts to (re)think ourselves anew, the birth of the Fallist Movement is realised. seeking to (re)imagine what a decolonised and decommodified education looks like, a cohort of young university students across the country took to the streets. part of those young people include some of our very own band members who were pivotal in advocating for free equal, decolonial and quality education for every young person in this country. 10 years later we are here, Vuleka Mbombo, Mbombo Vuleka! [est 2015] directed by Nhlanhla Ngqaqu, is a sonic remembrance of this very moment. what it meant and what it still means for the fallists across the country. please join us on the 27th of September 2025 at 7pm in the John Kani Theatre as we gather to remember, to (re)think, to (re)imagine, to heal, to love and to reflect.
we will soon be posting who will be joining us for the night, it's an exciting line-up of brilliant musicians, visual artists, poets, theatre practitioners and activists.
