10 years Down to Zero Alliance - SUFASEC Closure Event

Sexual exploitation of children — both online and offline — remains a global and urgent challenge. As digital technologies expand, risks emerge, including online grooming, live-streamed abuse, and the distribution of exploitative content. Worldwide, millions of children are affected, with 650 million (1 in 5) girls and women and 410 - 530 million (around 1 in 7) boys and men experienced sexual violence in childhood (UNICEF, 2023).

For the past decade, the Down to Zero Alliance has brought together 6 child-focused organisations in strategic partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation of children. Since 2016, the Alliance has worked with +30 local partners and country offices across 12 countries in Asia and Latin America. Partners apply a child-centred, holistic approach that addresses root causes, strengthens protection systems, and shifts social norms and holds duty bearers to account. As the current SUFASEC programme comes to a close, we are pleased to invite you to an in-person closure event to mark 10 years of the Down to Zero Alliance, celebrate key achievements of partners and participants, and showcase the expertise and impact of Alliance stakeholders. The event will feature a varied programme, in addition to an exhibition of key Alliance products and youth voices (including art exhibition, videos, and diverse materials produced across the Alliance) followed by drinks.
