2 February 2015 was the 1st official training session of the-then-named, RIVONIA KENDO CLUB! Over the years, we have evolved, grown, and adapted to become the RYU KEN CHI DOJO! With over 60 members who practice the 4 offerings of Kendo, Kendo Kids, Iaido, and Jodo, we have become the largest dojo in South Africa.
On 6 September 2025,we will host our 10-year dojo celebration gala! Bedsides the celebration, it will also be a fundraiser for an exciting new initiative (that we will announce soon)!
DRAFT PROGRAM:
5:30pm - Guest arrive and enjoy a complimentary welcome drink; take photos at the photobooth
6:00pm - Guests to be seated
6:15pm - Welcome + 1st Set of Speeches + 1st set of entertainment
7:15pm - Dinner is served!
8:15pm - 2nd Set of Speeches + 2nd set of entertainment
9:00pm - Party on the dance floor!
10:30pm - Final Rounds
11:00pm - End
DRESS CODE:
Smart Casual with a touch of purple and/or blue!
