About this Event

1-Day Workshop with Ajahn Brahmali (For BF Members only)

Topic: 1-Day Workshop - Taking a relay chariot to Nibbāna! A study of the Rathavinīta Sutta (MN 24)
Date: Saturday, 26 Dec 2026

Time: 9am - 5pm SGT

Venue: 310 Lavender St (S338815)

Synopsis:

"In this remarkable sutta, a monk called Puṇṇa Mantāṇiputta explains the path to Nibbāna as equivalent to taking a series of relay chariots. You mount one chariot, take it a certain distance, and then mount another one. Is this a good metaphor for the Buddhist path? In this workshop, we will investigate the strengths and weaknesses of this sutta. We will look at how it forms the scaffolding for the Visuddhimagga. And we will discover what are its implications for our practice of the path! " ~ Ajahn Brahmali

Due to space constraints, registration for this 1-day Workshop by Ajahn Brahmali is open to BF members only. See you there!

About the Teacher

𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐡𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚̄𝐥𝐢 is a highly respected Buddhist monk and teacher, known for his clarity, calm presence and deep grounding in the early teachings of the Buddha. Born in Norway, he first became interested in Buddhism and meditation in his early 20s, while on a visit to Japan. He later ordained in Australia under Ajahn Brahm at Bodhinyana Monastery. 2026 is Ajahn Brahmāli’s 30th year as a Buddhist monk.

Ajahn Brahmāli is renowned for his excellent knowledge of the Pali language and his enthusiasm for teaching the suttas. He is also well known as a scholar of the Vinaya—the monastic rules and procedures—which he has translated to English and is currently translating into Finnish.
