Students will learn the basics of black and white ﬁlm photography and ﬁlm development. Attendees will be asked to shoot a short reel of ﬁlm, either on a disposable camera or their own from home, then will be taught the steps of development in a hands-on demonstration. Students will develop their own ﬁlm, dry it, and have the option to scan and edit at DMC.
Lindy Lyda is a ﬁlm and digital photographer based in Denton, TX. Through their work, they explore themes of childhood, and Southern folklore, and the human form weaving together nostalgia and storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, the ﬂeeting magic of youth, and the myths and legends passed down through generations, Lyda’s photography aims to capture moments that feel timeless and deeply personal.
