If you love animals and being creative, you will love this session. In the first class we will each pick an animal to draw or paint. Then we will give that animal a home to live in. Some animals live in the woods, some in the mountains, and some even live in the desert or in trees! Wildlife art is all about capturing the essence of an animal in its natural habitat. Therefore, we will need to conduct some research about our chosen animals. Does it live alone? Does it travel in a pack? What does it eat? What animals is it prey to? What does its environment look like? This research will be essential in capturing the essence of your animal. You will learn lots about your animal, but you will also learn about composition and hierarchy. We will look at wildlife paintings from other artists as examples too. At the end of the class you will have made your own unique piece of wildlife art in the medium of your choice.
Space is limited to eight so please register early.
YAE Classes (Young Artist Experience) are made possible by generous funding from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation.
