A women's only dance space supports us to listen more deeply, soften our vigilance, release with more safety, reconnect with our inner authority and remember the wisdom of our individual and collective bodies. Join us Wednesday evening 03/25 as we atttune into and align with the sacred pulse of our own feminine life force energy, together...
To begin the evening, Ahva Lenay will teach "Funga", a beautiful way to ground the collective body. A traditional dance of welcome and friendship rooted in the African diaspora and Afro-Caribbean traditions. Having studied African dance for more than four decades, she shares this dance with deep respect for the lineage of teachers who carried it forward. With the blessing of her mentor Mama Tish, we will learn a few simple gestures of greeting and connection before moving into the wider flow of our dance. No experience needed.
Our DJ, Lucy Love will guide the dance portion from 7pm to 9pm. Lucy Kafanov is a sound alchemist, weaving deep organic house, tribal Afro rhythms, and psychedelic acid basslines to uplift the spirit and awaken the soul. Her love for electronic music was forged on the dancefloors of New York City’s 90s underground rave scene. Her sound is shaped by the vibrant cultures of the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, enriched by years of living abroad as a foreign correspondent, deepened through her immersion in ceremonial healing spaces. When not in front of the camera for CNN, Lucy Kafanov can be found playing a festival stage in Thailand, Burning Man, or curating a movement ceremony at a Denver or Boulder area ecstatic dance. Her DJ sets are an invitation to choose joy.
