Lighthouse Collaborative Summary: The Lighthouse Collaborative (LC) is a cross-district instructional improvement initiative designed to support the Chancellor’s Four Pillars, with an emphasis on expanding our ability to “scale, sustain and restore what works” through collaborative inquiry and sharing of promising practices. All Lighthouse Collaborative schools open their doors to a citywide audience to share promising practices within an instructional focus area.

At this Lighthouse Collaborative visit, participants will:

• Learn about school-wide practices that leverage Learning for Justice’s Social Justice Standards in service of deepening math content through the creation of SEL-aligned and culturally relevant math tasks.
• Observe how P.S. 290 strategically interweaves SEL across math content.
• Utilize SEL assessment criteria during classroom visits.

At the end of the day, visitors will have the opportunity to plan how these practices can be incorporated into their own work.
