Experience a vibrant fusion of traditional Scandinavian folk and bold improvisations with this dynamic Swedish/NZ trio. Featuring violin, flute, saxophone and bass clarinet, Marine / Simonsen / Wiskari deliver an emotionally rich performance that bridges hemispheres and traditions. A playful yet masterful exchange of four distinct musical voices, each infused with its own unique style and colour:Jonas Simonsen – a pioneering flutist in Sweden's folk/world scene since the 1980s, known for his rhythmically charged and personal style.
Mia Marine – a powerhouse fiddler, composer, and educator with international acclaim, blending groove and tradition.
Hanna Wiskari – soprano saxophonist and cultural connector, with a unique sound rooted in Nordic folk and enriched by her intercultural work in Aotearoa.
Expect joyful compositions, spontaneous improvisations and deep connections to Nordic roots music infused with global perspectives.
